Blackie Picture

Combining the talent of three exceptional Canadian artists; Colin Linden, Stephen Fearing and Tom Wilson, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings debut recording High or Hurtin' proves that the saying "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" can ring very true -- these songs and performances are truly awesome.

The band had its inception when Linden and Fearing, almost simultaneously, decide to record the songs of one of Canada's greatest unsung musical talents -- Willie P. Bennett. Following one quick call to Tom Wilson (a known Willie P. fan) the group was formed and the album "High on Hurtin'" was recorded December '95 to January '96 with Linden assuming the producer's role.

Guest players on the record include: Richard Bell, Bruce Cockburn, Gary Craig, Russell deCarle, John Dymond, Veda Hille, Mike Holder, Colleen Peterson, Janice Powers, Perry White, Chris Whiteley and Willie P. Bennett.
