Jake Willis is one of Canada’s as yet unrecognized song writing talents. He
is part of a modernization movement in Canadian and international music and
distribution and launched a multi-media website [rather than a CD] in
Nashville last year. www.blindmansees.com is a free distribution centre for
Jake’s music and other creative materials [photos, video, essays, poetry].
Come and browse or download. He is a strong rhythm guitar player who sings
from heart to heart and from voice to voice.
After a period of blindness Jake has embraced life and art with a renewed
zeal and sings songs of modern times and of the future. He has played with
his family band Black and Blue for eight years but took a solo turn while
isolated by blindness and injury. Eye surgery restored his sight. The Jake
Willis Trio, consisting of Jake on acoustic guitar, Terry Golletz on
mandolin and Peter Turpin on bass has been receiving warm receptions
recently and you are invited to come share in the music, the love and the
fun.
Terry Golletz first played guitar and mondolin as a folk musician in the
sixties. He got back into public performance mode in 1994, playing the folk
clubs, open stages and other venues in Kitchener, Cambridge, Guelph and
Toronto. His style evolved out of the acoustic music of the Folk Revival of
the Sixties with the influences of blues, bluegrass, country and rock. To
date, Terry has produced two CDs of his own, played back-up mandolin on two
other CDs, and for numerous musicians and groups in the Southern Ontario.
For further details see " terrygolletz.ca"
Peter Turpin has been performing with his bass for 8 plus years around
Southern Ontario. Peter has performed with Jake Willis, Max Bent, The Swamp
Kings, Bionic Roommate, Blueline, Dave Teichroeb, Dry Tickle, in addition to
numerous fill-in gigs and the occasional recording session. In addition to
playing the bass, Peter brings a calm sense of perspective and a subtly
caustic sense of humour.
Peace.
Jake
