=46RI MAY 9 - Kyra & Tully are a Kingston local duo. They play folky
laid back pop intertwining harmonies, acoustic and electric guitars,
electric piano and Farfisa Organ. They have one CD release, Live at
Grant Hall, recorded by Grand Ethier featuring vocals, a Grand Piano
and acoustic guitar. Kyra writes about the local music scene for
Kingston This Week and last played in our area in Newburgh.
SAT MAY 10 Dan DeSantis (Roblin)
Dan DeSantis, born in Niagara Falls, Canada, has been playing music
for most of his life and is a multi talented seasoned performer . He
took piano lessons during elementary and high school years and
furthered his musical education in the music program at Western
University and Creative Electronics at Fanshawe College. Dan spent
many years performing all over Canada with a variety of recording
acts. He has released four CDs of instrumental DeSantis songs.
These recordings have a variety of styles;easy listening, jazz, new
age, Celtic,electronic and some world beat. Dan also has a great love
for blues and rock classics and has been performing these styles live
with great success through the years .Dan is a piano instructor and
teaches privately and in the schools.
MOTHERS DAY: We are offering a Special Gourmet Mother's Day Meal &
Music on May 11 A special Treat Your Mum Brunch and an optional
3pm, musical matinee. In addition, there will be special discounts,
up to 50%, on 'Things that Mum's Like" including wicker, English
china cups, used and new cook books, handcrafted, Canadian made, wood
bowls etc.
The meal includes such goodies as Asparagus& red pepper frittata,
Wilton cheese pat=E9, glazed roast ham, a special chicken dish, Jo's
mouthwatering desserts and more. Reserve a table now!
There are also two musical performances, 3pm and 7pm, both benefits
for Artscan Circle- forty foot road,a five-piece band featuring
popular local musicians will perform, and will be joined by the band
Me Man Jack for the afternoon session. ArtsCanCircle is a project
undertaken by musician Mike Stevens a phenomenal harmonica player
who has been travelling to Labrador to share his music with
aboriginal kids in remote communities and helping to provide an
outlet and a focus in communities suffering so many severe problems.
His work has evolved into an instrument donation program and we'll be
passing to hat for donations to his worthy work.
POETS AT THE CROSSROADS
Starting June 8 we'll be hosting a special Poetry Reading series,
co-ordinated by Jill Battson, on the second Sunday of every month. If

an eclectic mix of antiques, art, collectibles, photographica,
crafts, used books, sheet music, new books by local authors & some
interesting junque.
West of Kingston, just north of Highway 401: Between Kingston &
