This live, on the road posting just in from Dan Kershaw of the fabulous
Brothers Cosmoline! I think this proves that there's a folk network in
Canada but not much hope for Google translations.
-------------------------------
toronto country songsters the brothers cosmoline touch
down in montreal for a night of merriment at the
claremont - sun oct 20, 9pm, on a bill with montreal's
prodigal daughter, joanne mackell and her paradise
rangers. (for those who don't know jo, think: a honky
tonk penny lang).
the claremont is located at 5032 sherbrooke street,
which i believe is deep in the heart of NDG. 514 483
1557.
for more info on this groovy little place, i'll refer
you below to a wonderfully quaint Google english
translation of an article from a french montreal
restaurant guide. first person at the gig who can tell
me what "heteroclite" means wins beverage of their
choice.
Profile of Bar
Since 1983, the gourmets of the corner know well the
Coffee Claremont, pretty small harbour of the street
western Sherbrooke, where the menu and the customers
have several common points: heteroclite, urban, not
pretentious. One tastes there dishes simple, but
consistent and presented well: pizza pies with pastes
thin, hamburgers generous, sandwiches of all kinds,
pastes varied, unless one undoubtedly chooses with the
chart a combination of dishes which will constitute a
complete meal.
the customers are merry there, thanks to the service
sympathetic nerve, inter alia person in charge for the
regular frequentation several accustomed. One adds the
speed to already many qualities of the service, which
is not slackened in afternoon and evening, since one
always can, in these hollow moments, take a coffee or
a beer there, in all peace.
