     BOOKSTORE CAFE
     (Camden East 378-1102)

Live By Request, is a light-hearted, yet sympathetic look at a young
bar band (loveable misfits) in small town Ontario trying to "make it"
and eventually becoming successful with Christian Rock. It offers
insights into the workings of a musician's mind but it is the various
sub plots about relationships that make the book special. The lead
character is a modern-day Everyman whose first love is music and the
book is due out later this month.

To find out more, come to the Bookstore Cafe (15 minutes west of
Kingston) where the author will be reading excerpts and answering
question and where you can share your experiences. And who knows,
maybe you'll recognize your band as the inspiration for the book!

***** Sunday Oct 20, 1pm - AUTHOR! AUTHOR! ****
Meet Authors Rob Payne (Live by Request)
and
Peter Darbyshire (Please) - Admission free

This is an opportunity for readers not only to hear their favourite
authors read their works but provides an informal setting in which
they can interact and ask interesting, sensitive, controversial or
leading questions. The format will involve:
  a) A reading
b) A mix & mingle
c) Question & Answer session

"Please is a wry and quick and screamingly wild look at an underground
culture of aimlessness and emotional loss. It is about the spaces between
people, but also about the beauty of the spaces between words. Darbyshire is
that rare breed of writer who knows how and when to pause. Please is
absolutely stunning." -=96 Michelle Berry, author of Blur
