sorry to intrude with a PSA, but these guys are *insanely* good.
barn-burnin', foot-stompin' pre-war blues & hillbilly, all the way from
boston. i saw them in vancouver, and we had 'em at harbourfront last year
when i was there (and it's a "we" again, because i work part-time at the
TBS, but this is the rant of a true believer). string bass, big ole'
marching band bass drum, fiddle, and bottleneck acoustic guitar hot-rodded
with an old deArmond pick-up.
8:30pm, with like-minded country-blues guys mr rick & the biscuits plus
micheal jerome browne opening. hughs shows usually end by 12, so a bunch
of us are going after to catch the last set of the backstabber's gig at
king & niagara.
hugh's is at 2261 dundas west (just south of bloor). you can get get a
really nice meal there too, but you should call ahead to get a table - 416
