The Cancon percentage is over a 24 hour period, unless it has been changed
since I retired from Mother Corp a few years back. A specific station
somewhere can take it upon itself to play an hour of local artists if it so
wishes, but there's no CRTC requirement to do so. Many private stations used
to lump their Cancon requirement late at night and overnight so they could
play "the real music" when more people were listening. I think I remember
that being changed a few years back.
