Allô M'posters,
Happy news from the Palmerston Institute of Inquiry into Puzzling
Behaviours:
Borealis is launching the new cd of our honourary president Nancy
White.
The cd is called "Stickers on Fruit".
Launch is Thus.Oct.10 at the glamorous Arts and Letters Club, 14 Elm
Street (north of Dundas, west of Yonge) in Toronto.
Doors open at 7, concert starts at 8. There's a cash bar, and we'll
have door prizes, and are thinking of giving everyone an orange. Tickets are
$18 at the door, and you can reserve by calling Borealis at 530-4288.
This will be a full, two-set concert (rare for Nancy in Toronto),
featuring producers Bob Johnston and Dale Koshida on keyboards, Rick
Whitelaw on guitar, Tom Leighton on accordion and bones, and the singing of
Barbara Johnston, Catharine Merriam-Gorman, Maddy Wilde and Suzy Wilde. The
luminous Stella Walker will also add her magnificent mezzo to a couple of
tunes.
And these tunes are: "Jesus at Tim's", "I Sweep the Sidewalk with the
Hose", "River Mend My Heart", "And I Copied It", "Stickers on Fruit", "Les
Belles Belles Fesses", "Freefloating Anxiety", "Love in Wartime", "My God My
Mom", "Like An Old John Deere", "Mitterand's Last Meal", "Nova Scotia
Squirrel Stuffer", "The Shabbas Goy C'est Moi", "So Damn Taut", "Ballad of
the Wannabe", "Procrastination Rag", "Gone Like Brigadoon", and "Mary Jane's
Got Your Number".
"Stickers on Fruit" comes in a sturdy, lightweight digipac, designed
by Dan Ouellette, who also plays harmonica in Jughead.
It will be for sale at the launch, of course, and buyers will also
receive cassettes and fruit sticker fridge magnets.()
So, you know, come one come all! A festive time is expected.
