Toronto singer/ songwriter Lori Cullen (www.loricullen.com)- "one of the =
local scene's most luminous voices" according to The Toronto Sun's John =
Sakamoto -will be performing in a special evening of music on Friday =
November 29th at Toronto's renowned music club C'est What =
(www.cestwhat.com). Lori will be kicking off the night at 10pm, =
opening for the much acclaimed and innovative Kurt Swinghammer =
(www.swinghammer.com).=20
Following the release of her critically acclaimed debut cd Garden Path =
last year-
"NNNN -- succeeds on every level.reflective, poetic, ambient and very, =
very pretty."-Kim Hughes/NOW Magazine, Cullen has been so busy there =
have been too few opportunities to hear her perform live. Last month she =
released So Much, a jazz vocal CD with the Ron Davis Trio. =20
Lori also produced Scott's Emulsion, the debut cd of Toronto's =
brilliant singer/ songwriter/ actress Eliza Jane Scott, scheduled for =
release in January of 2003. Meanwhile, Cullen's been in the studio with =
co-producer Chris Gartner (Mia Sheard, Kevin Hearn, Tasa) recording her =
second cd of highly original songs, to be released by March 2003.
"It's been a hectic year, but so varied and fulfilling. Unfortunately =
it's prevented me from getting out to perform as much as I'd like. But I =
couldn't say no to this wonderful opportunity to play with Kurt =
Swinghammer. I so love and respect his work. What a great night it will =
be!"
