[mplpost] Advice- Music In Films???

Hi Folks
     - just an inquiry about music featured in films on behalf of Erin 
Gignac who has been recently been asked about having two of her original 
songs included in an educational video put together by the Art Gallery of 
Windsor.  The video will be used on a long term basis at libraries and art 
galleries across the country.  Although the videos are not specifically 
aimed at the retail market and are primarily for educational use; the art 
gallery will sell them upon request for $20.00.
    Erin is of course seeking adequate compensation for the use of her 
songs; and the art gallery wants to pay her fairly for them.  Erin has 
contacted SOCAN and CMRRA about how to figure out a fair price to charge the 
art gallery; they both suggested she contact a lawyer to figure it out.  Is 
it really neccesary for Erin to contact a lawyer?
