Hello all -
This is our last month of concerts for the season; after November, we =
plan to take a a sabbatical. On Saturday, November 16 at 8pm we will be =
presenting the final folk concert for this season: "The Allison Lupton =
Band" http://www.allisonlupton.com featuring: Ian Bell, Ray Caldwell, =
Anne Lederman, Bob MacLean and Kevin Muir. Allison, who resides in the =
Cambridge area, is a very popular performer in our region (southern =
Ontario) so it is best to reserve now, while there are still a few =
tickets left.
As part of the acclaimed band "Killiecrankie", Allison sang, played =
flute and whistle, and, created arrangements of traditional songs and =
tunes. CBC's Max Ferguson said this: "Among the many hundreds of LPs, =
cassettes and CDs sent to me over the years ... none has given me more =
listening enjoyment than Killiecrankie".=20
Since the Killiecrankie days, Allison has recorded her first solo CD: =
"My True Love" - released over the past year. She collected a group of =
talented musicians to perform with her at the CD's release concert to =
high praise: "Lupton's beautiful voice carried the night, but concert =
was balanced with instrumentals, including a lovely waltz written by =
composer Brian Pickell of Paris, Ontario, and sets of jigs and reels =
accompanied by Irish dancer Niamh Myer's percussive feet" - Rose Simone, =
The Kitchener Waterloo Record
Many of these same musicians will be performing with her at the Arkell =
Schoolhouse this weekend.
Tickets by Reservation Only, please call Geraldine @ 519-763-7528 (cash, =
cheque or visa)
The Arkell Schoolhouse would like to thank so many for their support of =
our unique concert venue over the past few years of operation. After a =
break, we will still rent the hall for self-presented concerts as well =
as present the very occasional concert, ourselves.

North America as a recitalist, orchestral soloist and chamber musician. =
"Semerjian captured the essential poetry of the music with simplicity =
and directness. A fascinating performance exploring the tonal pallet of =
the piano. He gave brilliant utterance to the works and drew cheers from =
the audience". - The New York Reporter. Semerjian has recently finished =
recording the complete Mozart sonatas on pianos from various periods =
dating from the 18th century to the present day. Mr. Semerjian will have =
