Interesting that this should come up now. I wrote to Canada Post about
a week ago on this same subject. I got an automated response saying
that they get so much email it would take them 5 business days to
reply. I expect something this week.

Here's my complaint in a nutshell. I kept 2 boxes that had contained CD
orders from ABSound. Earlier in the year I shipped a CD, in its jewel
case, to family in Alberta using one of the boxes. Canada Post charge
me a little over $7.00 with tax. That was the cheapest way to send it.
Last week I shipped 10 CDs, no jewel cases, to the manufacturer in
Taiwan. (I was having trouble burning them at an speed close to their
rating and the manufacturer wanted samples to test.) These were shipped
in the other boxed saved from ABSound. So, both parcels were the same
size and the second might have been a little heavier. I expected a huge
bill. I was quoted a little over $3.00 for 'surface' mail and a little
more than $5.00 for airmail!

Stay tuned for the Canada Post response.
