[mplpost] ADMIN Stuff - Plain Text Required

This is a repeat of the Nov 22 posting. An update: the filters are working
very well. The bottom line is that you won't be able to post to Maplepost
if your emailer is configured to send any HTML or any attachments,
including binary signature files.

Most of you are fine but small number of you are being blocked because
you're not sending plain text or you're including attachments.

Drop me a line offlist if you're having problems posting.

Hello Mapleposters,

First, congratulations! Most of you have successfully adjusted your email
programs to send text only to the list. This helps in many ways. There is
still a fair amount of HTML coding being posted, however. To help clean up
the listings and to add an extra bit of protection from viruses I have
added some new filters to Maplepost:

1. HTML coding is now blocked (if I set the filters right :-)

If you get bounce backs that have strange-sounding subject lines about 
"taboo-body" that's just Maplepost telling you that you need to fix your 
email reader so that it sends text only.

2. All .exe, .zip, .gif, .jpg and .html files are now blocked.

Again, if you get bounce backs about "taboo-body" take a look at your 
setup. This filter will help screen out some potential virus attachments.

If you need help adjusting your mailer, reply to me offlist. I don't use 
Windows or Mac mailers but I've used them in the past and can sometimes 
figure out the settings.

(For the curious, I use Linux and my favourite mail program is Pine)
