Wed Nov 28 - Lynn Miles CD Release - "Unravel"
8:30, $15 Keith Glass CD Release - "Straight Ahead"

"Miles delivers it all with an everywoman expressiveness
in a voice that's a combination of Lucinda Williams
and Shawn Colvin. Her poetic, insightful portrait of
the human spirit -- upbeat despite its difficult
	  honesty, is truly inviting."
          		The Tennessean

Lynn Miles is not afraid to look at the melancholy side of life,
and write about it. Write about it she does -- with depth, truth
and clarity that few contemporary singer/songwriters possess.
Combine those gifts with her beautiful, plaintive voice, her
stellar guitar playing and her amazing sense of humor, and you
have a truly captivating artist.

Lynn has always had music flowing through her veins. Lynn's mom
says that she could tell when Lynn was finally asleep in her crib,
because the singing would stop. When she was a child, she could
play any instrument she picked up, including guitar, piano, flute,
violin and mandolin...

Keith Glass

Keith Glass is one of the founders of Prairie Oyster, which set
new standards as a country band that crossed to a wide audience,
but maintained its hardcore fans who relished the band for its
energy, songs, and the breadth of its repertoire.

As one of the band's three main songwriters, and its powerful
lead guitarist and occasional singer, Keith could not resist the
opportunity to start up a solo project when the band - after more
than 20 years on the road - took a well-deserved sabbatical
earlier this year.

His solo album fits its title - Straight Ahead - like a glove. It
covers a wealth of musical ground - country, blues, rockabilly,
balladry, and some good old rock and roll.

Released on his own label and distributed by Festival, Keith
launches his great new collection of songs alongside Lynn Miles'
new release "Unravel" (True North Records).

The pair have just returned from a 10-date European tour. Keith
played guitar for Lynn on the road, and Lynn sang harmony on one
of the tracks on his CD, so expect some "special guests" and some
surprises at this dual CD launch.

Thur Nov 29 - Danny Bakan CD Release & Hootenanny
8:00, $8 "Dog Man Don't Cat Man Do

"He's an original. Great songs with unusual twists sung
with great conviction and a frailing banjo groove that
	 just won't quit."
Paul Mills aka Curly Boy Stubbs

Danny Bakan is one heck of a songwriter, entertainer and
interpreter of traditional music. He's been called a "post-modern
urban-acoustic troubadour" combining the richness of tradition
with the innovation of individuality. With solid roots in the
traditional North American folk repertoire, a passionate love of
music and charismatic natural presence, Danny delivers songs that
speak to a love of life in all its grand stupidity, songs that
are funny, smart and touching.

As well as being a songwriter and a wordsmith, Danny breathes
new life into the art of playing clawhammer style banjo. He
seamlessly marries traditional "frailing" techniques with rock/
pop aesthetics to pay homage to and transcend genre.

Danny will be joined by Christopher McKhool on fiddle, Tom
Leighton on accordion, Mitch Lewis on percussion, and some other
special guests! He heartily invites folks to bring along their
instruments for an all-out acoustic jam after the "official"
show!

Fri Nov 30 - 3 Women 3 Voices - A CD Celebration!
$10

Three Canadian Singer Songwriters, all with very distinctive and
varied influences, writing styles & voices will come together on
stage in a night of magical performance this Friday.

Orangeville's Laura Bird, Bowmanville's Deanna Knight, and
Ottawa's Chris MacLean will be sharing music from their debut
CDs; "Dreamwalker", "Shadow of a Star" and "Learn to Be Loved",
respectively.

Laura Bird is a passionate performer of contemporary acoustic
music. Known for her warm, powerful and versatile smoky alto
voice, she takes her audiences on journeys through styles of
folk-roots, bluegrass to sultry jazz standards, all expertly
supported by her strong finger- & flat-picking and percussive
guitar playing.

Riveting audiences with her soulful songs, Deanna Knight's music
documents the raw depth of her lyric and melody, embraced by her
golden voice, a cappella. Her new CD, "Shadow Of A Star"
(co-produced with George Koller), is a beautiful folk/jazz
collection of sounds with a healing, lyrical twist.

Chris MacLean’s music has been described as poignant, from the
heart, angelic vocals with lyrics that evoke landscapes in the
here-to-fore unmapped territories of the personal. With the
release of her debut album, “Learn to Be Loved” Chris has
established herself as a fresh new voice in Canadian folk music.

Laura, Deanna and Chris will perform on stage individually,
and together, providing beautiful harmonies and acoustic
instrumentation for each other.

An equally varied and talented array of musicians will accompany:

Kuljit Sohdi - percussion
Linsey Wellman - soprano sax & flute
Jack Walker - dobro
James Thomson - upright bass
Geoff Somers - mandolin/violin
