         "House of the Rising Sun" is a traditional folk song in the public 
domain.  Anyone can copyright their own arrangement.  SESAC lists 7 
versions, ASCAP has 22, BMI has 65, "written" by people ranging from Huddie 
Ledbetter to Woody Guthrie to Bob Dylan to Eric Burdon and many others.

         I would assume that SOCAN must have some versions as 
well.  However, they don't have a searchable database on their website.
