Oh boy, did you guys ever miss a gig! As I sat in the audience with my
family and so many great friends, (some I've not yet met), there was a
sense of community, that started with Tater Vox leading us in the Star
Spangled Banner and Oh Canada, the experience just built and built
throughout the evening. It is not possible to identify the penultimate
moment or performer. I helped sell CD's in the intermission, they just flew
off the table, others must have felt the same way as I. The evening was a
wonderful step in this journey that started such a short time ago.

The board of directors, performers and many other sponsers and volunteers
deserve so much credit, though I can't honestly say that anyone deserves
more than another. It sure seemed like a team effort with everyone
contributing so much. Perhaps the best way to give them recognition and
support is to spread the word, buy the CD, make the goals come true. We
need also to be grateful for all the musicians that took this project to
heart, and wish the concert/CD could have included all of them. I've heard
several of the these songs, and they are wonderful and need to be heard.

There will be nothing to compare to the concert, but there will be lots more
wonderful moments, relationships and communities that will get their start
from the CD. It truly is outstanding and it hasn't made it out of my player
yet, and probably won't for a while. Go to the website, check out the
whole thing, then buy the CD, for your family, to give to friends as you
visit over the holidays, or take it the folk clubs.

I was struck by fact that while some of the songs that have been
contributed have just been written and some are still resonating after a
while, they all celebrated, healed, made us laugh, cry and gave us hope. We
are truly blessed to have such amazing music, caring and friends. I would
love to be part of annual event as suggested by Arnie, lets get something
happening. I think the annual reading of A Christmas Carol started as a
small group in Toronto and now its an annual beloved event across the
country.
