writer, photographer, and musician... DAVID NEWLAND!

Drawing from an astounding collection of original songs (spanning 10 years
of unreleased work), "CARPENTER's GOTHIC" marks DAVID NEWLAND's first public
concert in over five years.

Raised in Parry Sound, Ontario, DAVID is best described as a
"poet-anthropologist".

His quiet and determined explorations of Canada, Central America, India, and
Europe have shaped a deep appreciation and understanding of human nature,
landscapes, and the threads that bind us to places and one-another.

Like a "late night documentary" his FOLK/ROOTS music reveals a surprisingly
bold and intimate view of his heart, perceptions, and convictions and is a
"tour de force" through the wonders of our time, the frailty of love, the
unforgiving nature of change, and the silent trade of travel.

Gritty, subtle, honest, stark, and daring; NEWLAND's songs have a "keen eye
for truth, a soft hand on beauty, and a piercing mirror for our foibles".

A seasoned tree-planter,
A student of literature, photography, and fine art,
and a man who hand-built his own home on the North Mountain,
DAVID's songwriting invites you to the world of an artist, a gardener, and a
craftsman.
