If Maplepost is not intended to include chat, as is being implied, it's
news to me. HOw many of us would bother to be on a list that only post4ed
gig announcements and didn't allow us to talk to each other? Life is not so
easily drawn and quartered.
So, some are leaving because there's too much "irrelevant" chatter, and
some because they feel that they're being muzzled? Can't we just accept
that there will always be a few messages which stray over the line in
either direction? Far preferable than a situation where people are afraid
to open their mouths (metaphorically speaking of course). I am sorry we
lose any voice here, and I hope people realize over time that the wages of
communication are sometimes having to listen for a few minutes longer than
you would choose.
