Hi Guys and Dolls
I thought I'd share a couple of interesting sites I found while cruising
the net this week..
This from the Detroit News.. A feature on Fortune Records by Susan
Whitall... Anyone have any of these 45s kicking around?.. I only own one by
John Lee Hooker ...

and this regarding Canadian Veterans who were never recognized by the
Canadian government for volunteering to fight in the Vietnam war....
The North Wall in Assumption Park, Windsor, Ontario remembered..

Here's some information about the building of the North Wall all from Ted
Boomer (artistic director from Bluesfest International)..

Thank you V, your always the coolest.
The first two years of the festival we did fundraising for Rick and his
partner from Michigan for the wall. It was sad to the point of depressing...
the guys did their run from the wall in Washington to the wall in Windsor
then came to the festival...they we're emotional puddles. It's a real
powerful thing for a Vietnam Vet.
Another cool thing is Rick and his partner (who are just regular working guys)
paid for the entire thing out of their own pockets...something like $30,000.
They went to Ottawa and got the run around, so they asked our city counsel
and they approved it in one day. The city did a good thing for a change.
This year our Police were trying to kill the bike ride to the monument
because they were afraid of the 1% bikers.
Windsor really does have a Heart..

Have a great long weekend eveybody, but please take a minute or two to
remember those who fought and those who gave their lives for the life we
all enjoy today..
