Hey all... love the thread and here are my two cents.

I have dealt with this problem in the past with a visit to a qualified
Chinese Medicine Doctor. I have a CMD ( and yes, it is a real degree!) who
on several occasions has enabled me to knock bugs out of my system quickly
and effectively. The combination of acupuncture and carefully prescribed
herbs really has made a difference.

Beware of self prescribing these herbs though, they work in a very
different way than that used in Western herbalism, and finding the right
herb for the right condition is not as simple as matching the symptoms to
the cure. Sometimes the treatments and herbs aren't exactly pleasant, but
they work.

I also have had great success with steam inhalation of aromatherapy oils.
But it helps to know what the problem is... do you have a virus or an
infection? Is it your lymph nodes or your throat? Check a good reference
book for tips on how to use aromatherapy oils and which ones to use. Often
a few drops of lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree or rosemary inhaled in steam
can knock the germies right out. Use good quality oils from a health food
store though, don't rely on the ones from the drug store...

Here's what you do:

1.Boil a kettle of water
2. Prepare a big bowl by setting it on the floor by the couch, and add a
couple drops of the essential oil to the empty bowl.
3. Sit on the couch over the bowl, pour in the hot water and immediately
cover you and the bowl with a big towel or blanket and breathe deep for
five minutes.

500 units of vitamin C an hour and lots of rest for a day has also worked
to scare the bugs away. But I will add that a friend of mine really hurt
her voice by doing a gig with an infection. Be careful, one night ain't
worth your whole career. Who ever coined the phrase "the show must go on"
wasn't a self-employed free agent folksinger...

There is my unqualified advice...

Now, can we talk about fingernails? Any good tricks for making them strong
and long?

Hope your feeling better Gregg!
