Greetings
As a part time 'lurker' I choose to keep silent with respect to most =
threads.=20
The current spate of nostalgia drives me out of hiding.

First of all let me state that I was there. My memory is full of bits =
and pieces about music in Toronto ... and N.Y.and a number of U.S. =
scenes. I share these when
I think it is relevant. I do not remember what I wore, and consider it =
of limited interest to the broad maplepost list. I save the heavy gossip =
for private situations.=20
The few people who contribute nostalgia about the Toronto folk scene =
likely enjoy this 'sharing' but I question it's appeal for the many who =
were not around at the time or whose base is/was outside of the Toronto =
area.=20

The Sam's situation appeared to have more 'global' appeal and produced =
nostalgia
in abundance. I was 'there' as well ,but have a slightly different take =
having had to conduct Mariposa business with the man.

Memories of Lightfoot's recordings and appearances may inspire broader =
curiosity, as do comments about Toronto clubs in the framework of the =
music scene at the time. Chronology may be useful for some who were not =
there by virtue of residence or even birth.

Nostalgia has limited interest for me in a public discussion which =
appears to involve relatively few people. I also wonder about postings =
which could be construed as personal notes and which might be of minimal =
broad interest.=20
Gene's "netiquette" session during the OCFF conference gave me some good =
new information, despite my partial attendance. He mentioned, =
frequently, the delete
option. Yes, Gene, I do make use of it but still have these comments. =
Perhaps you=20
have a response?
=20
Regards to all.
