Yes,
Perhaps Sam was a poor businessman
Yes,
Perhaps his business did not keep "up with the times" - look no farther than
T Eaton Company
to see parallels in the Canadian marketplace
Yes,
if he had Only been computerized/ more organized he may have lasted longer -
Just look at how well all the fully computerized e-commerce companies are
now doing in 2001
a rather large heap of speculative excrement!!!
Who really knows if and for how long this business would have/could have
survived in these times???
ALL I KNOW is that whenver I visited Toronto (usually 2 or 3 times a year)
when I lived in Ontario - I would ALWAYS visit the Yonge St store and
thought it was the greatest record store in the world. The staff were always
incredibly knowledgable and Can Con was the rule (not the "token gesture"
exception) Knowing his undying support of Canadian artists I would always
shop at his stores first - and unless they didn't have the disc or were
really out of line with pricing (which was rarely the case) I bought there
(and not @ HMV/A&B/M-O-U-S-E)
THIS IS A VERY SAD TIME IN CANADIAN MUSIC -
first we lost hockey to the Americans
now sam's to the creditors
what the hell is next????
