Fri June 22 - Steve Paul Simms & Michael Laderoute, $8, 8:30pm
"Steve Paul Simms is a great songwriter, in a range of styles
from comedy to folk to show tune-sounding songs, and a thoroughly
entertaining performer."
Bob Snider
"What venue could his music NOT fit into? Some songs make me
nostalgic for places I've never been."
Mose Scarlett
Singer, guitarist, actor and dialectician, Steve Paul has authored
about 200 songs in as many genres as one can imagine. Twelve of the
best appear on his outstanding CD, "Wall Of Illusion", available on
Burnt Mango Music. He has acted in more than 60 theatre productions
across Canada, composed music for half a dozen more, and contributed
to the soundtrack of Discovery's "Great Parks" series. Steve Paul's
songs are frequently covered by other Toronto musicians and have
been recorded by The Polarity Bears and Rick Bauer.

Michael Laderoute - In His Own Words...
"I was born and raised, sorta, in Arnprior Ontario in the heart of
the Ottawa Valley. Surrounded by music from first memory. My first
real impact came at the age of 3 when I pulled a huge cabinet radio
on top of myself while listening to Mac Beattie and the Ottawa Valley
Melodiers.
There was a metal turntable on top of the radio. It hit me and I was
inoculated with the needle. Been making music ever since.

Sat June 23 - The Liquidaires - no cover, 9:30pm
Formed in 1996 as an exploratory ska-jazz collective The Liquidaires
have developed a reputation for soulful and firey performances of
Jamaican classics and unique original material.
Originally, The Liquidaires made their name in Toronto as Canada's
hottest ska-jazz band. Frequently working with 3-5 piece horn
sections, The Liquidaires have performed many of the classic
Jamaican dance hits from the 1960s, delving exhaustively into the
repertoire of Jamaica's famous Skatallites as well as the music of
Desmond Dekker, Toots and the Maytals, and many others.
More information about the band will be available on the website
later today.
