October Browne
October BrowneOctober has been playing guitar for 16 years, having studied with Emily Remler, Pat Kilbride, Don Ross, and at the Jazz Mobile in Harlem. She was involved in the Irish and acoustic music scenes in N.Y. city from 1988 to 1991.

This lady has taken Toronto's music scene by storm with her original style and has just released her first solo CD of original material. The CD showcases Octobers' strengths as a songwriter, guitarist and vocalist. The album features producer Evelyne Datl, Natalie McMaster, Gary Craig, Peter Bleakney, Kim Ratcliffe, Colin Cripps, Russell Broome, Loretto Reid, Ernie Tollar as well as many other fabulous musicians joining this wonderful singer on her exciting CD. October plays guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, cittern, and bodhran. Since arriving in Toronto in 1991, October has made an impact with her superb Celtic finger-style guitar playing and aggressive rhythmic accompaniments as well as her lofty and haunting vocals.

She has performed with such notable musicians such as Oliver Schroer, Cindy Thompson, Anne Lederman, Kirk Elliott, Ena O'Brien and has even performed for the President of Ireland.

Her song "Lady of the Streets" appeared on the critically acclaimed Duke Street records CD Stuck on A Cold Steel Pole, released Christmas 1995.

The song, produced by Evelyne Datl, was singled out in the Ottawa Citizen and Toronto's Eye Weekly, received considerable airplay on C.B.C. radio and was included on the December, 1996 MCA Radio Compilation CD.

October is a founding member of the band Morgaine Le Fay, a rocking celtic band with Pat O’Gorman (formerly of Rare Air): Jamie Snider (Wonderful Grand Band), original drummer Andy Stochansky (Ani Difranco), now replaced by Howard Gaul (the Henrys), and Rachel Melas, (Mother Tongue).
