| Noah Zacharin
is a singer, songwriter and guitarist born in Montreal and based, since
1987, in Toronto.
Since moving to Toronto, Noah has worked with some of the city's finest acoustic musicians including, Gloria Blizzard, Douglas September, Rick Fielding, and Glen Hornblast. He has also worked producing recordings, notably Roger Lee's excellent "There to Here", and played for 3 years as Polarity Bears' guitarist. Noah's versatility as a guitarist has been fashioned over 25 years, and seamlessly incorporates elements of blues, jazz and classical music to forge a densely textured and complex finger-picking style. Zacharin has a great reverence for, and skills with, language. He constantly strives "with a remarkable ability to articulate efficient, powerfully condensed ideas" (WHAT 18/19), to write lyrics that have life outside the context of melody. From 1976-1986, Noah Zacharin was heavily involved in the Montreal poetry scenes. This period saw the publication of some 200 poems, translations and reviews in literary periodicals and anthologies worldwide. Noah has shared stages with Dave Van Ronk, Jesse Winchester, Penny Lang and a host of others. His songs have received national airplay, and he has played on CBC and Global TV and appeared at festivals and in clubs across the province. "an understated classic...musical versatility and lyrical depth" Ottawa Xpress
