The Nationals have been rocking
the blues in bars and concert venues across the continent since the mid-eighties.
This 3 piece blues band has worked with virtually every major blues act
including Chuck Berry, Bo Bo Jenkins, Johnny Winter, James Cotton and Bo
Diddley, and recently opened for Blue Rodeo.
Guitarist Brian Cober, originator of the
double-slide technique, studied at the Ontario Conservatory of Music the
age of eight. Paul McNamara, the group's bass player was a Motown Records
studio bassist at the tender age of 13. And drummer Nick Kent has played
with Martha and the Muffins, Mondo Combo and the Cee Dee's. The Nationals
have three recordings to their credit, Resophonic, Blue Howl and their
latest CD, Piece of Wood.
