Michael McNevin
Michael McNevin"McNevin has a wonderful tenor voice. The songs are melodic and artfully constructed... This is very classy stuff." - John McClure, Victory Review

The songs on Michael McNevin's self-produced first album have won more awards than we care to list here.

Secondhand Story represents a high water mark in American songwriting. McNevin's compositions, deeply intelligent and formally beautiful, are composed in varied musical sections, featuring an inventive use of conversational English ("aspirin" rhymes with "askin!"). A high, breathy voice, exquisite melodies, the supple, flowing guitar lines - even when the subject matter is dark, the song goes way up in the air.

"Jersey Jail" recounts the author's arrest for jumping over a subway turnstile in 1985. "Morning Pearl" studies a woman's struggle with time. Other titles include "Sleepy Little Town," "The Web," and "Busy Life."

This is genuinely original work, fresh, profound and rewarding on many levels.
