Margaret Christl
Margaret Christl's music comes out of a bittersweet life story. Her childhood was one of great hardship, but she was blessed with a voice and a love for music that would take her around the world, singing the traditional music of her homeland, Scotland.

Orphaned at an early age, Maggie was raised by various relatives in the mining communities of Scotland and Wales. She emigrated to Canada at age 18 and was soon involved in the Canadian Folk Music scene. Over the next 20 years she performed and toured extensively, playing every major festival and concert hall in Canada, as well as World Fairs in Vancouver and Australia, the Winter Olympics and numerous tours of the US.

Maggie and her husband/guitar accompanist Michael Johnston have been playing traditional and contemporary music together for ten years. They recently relocated to Boston from Pittsburgh.
