Jeff Miller comes frorm a very
talented musical family. His mother, Betty, was an accomplished guitarist,
vocalist and songwriter who had several of her compositions published.
Jeff pays tribute to his late mother on his album, including a song "Suzuki
Granny", that was written by her. Jeff’s older brother, Phil, is a
seasoned musician who has been involved in the composing, recording and
performing aspects of the music industry most of his life.
At the age of eight, Jeff made his first
public appearance on television, performing on a talent show. The following
few years saw the young artist delving deeper into the music world by singing
and plating guitar at numerous clubs, cabarets and parties. By the age
of sixteen, he had formed his first band. Since then, Jeff has performed
at several festivals in Western Canada and placed second in an annual edition
of the Bud Talent Contest in Saskatoon. Over the past twenty years, Jeff
has devoted himself full-time to the music business by playing the club
circuit throughout Western Canada and Ontario.
While his musical influences range from
the pure country of Hank Williams Sr. to the country-rock sound of Creedence
Clearwater Revival, for his album Jeff has focused on country-based roots
music. The twelve original compositions on Completely demonstrate the wide
range of the artist’s songwriting talents. Country-rocker, two-steps, ballads
and traditional country tunes are all represented on the release.
The project was recorded at Audio Art Recording
in Saskatoon and was co-produced by Jeff and his brother Phil. By employing
the services of twenty studio musicians and taking his time in the studio,
Jeff has come away with an impressive collection of highly-polished, radio-friendly
songs.
