Jeff Goldberg
Jeff Goldberg is establishing himself as a gifted composer, arranger and fingerstyle guitar player. Mixing jazz, blues and folk stylings, Jeff's playing explores the dynamic range of the acoustic guitar. A fingerstyle guitarist who acknowledges the rich lineage of this style, Jeff has an appreciation for its contribution to contemporary music. This becomes apparent in his live performance which showcase thoughtful compositions and strong melodies demonstrating a sense of flair, fire and fun.

While studying poetry and literature at the University of Toronto, Jeff honed his song writing skills playing with a number of local folk ensembles. After completing his degree he began an intense study of theory and harmony at the Humber College School of Music in Toronto. His focus on composition and arranging has fostered an ever maturing musical palette and a greater creative range on the acoustic guitar. Jeff has also studied outside the school environment with a number of prominent musicians including Columbia/Sony recording artist Don Ross.

Currently, Jeff is busy teaching guitar and performing regularly in support of his new CD Hands Together, his debut release featuring seven original compositions for solo acoustic guitar. This CD has recieved a very warm welcome on the U.S. acoustic/folk radio scene. Many of the tracks are receiving steady airplay and the disc has charted in several states since its April release!! Jeff is also busy completing the Hands Together Song Book featuring transcriptions of all the music found on the CD (available through the address below). Jeff is looking forward to a busy 1998 and hopes to spend a good part of the year on the Canadian music festival circuit.
