Since the release of his debut
album, City Rain, in June 1996, singer-songwriter Brent Truitt has
been devoting all his creative energy to his musical career. In keeping
with the folk flavour of his albums, Brent has performed numerous acoustic
shows in his adopted city of Saskatoon as well as in his former hometown
of Vancouver. Upon his return to Saskatoon after a west coast tour, Brent
recruited a group of talented young players to form a backup band: John
List (lead and rhythm guitar), Rich Bazille (drums) and Kevin Macza (bass).
Having gained a sizeable following from
playing the local club scene, Brent decided to record his follow-up album
of new material during a live engagement at Lydia’s Nightclub in Saskatoon.
With fan support still growing, his most recent city appearances have been
standing-room-only events, with impressive turnouts of local musicians
and music business enthusiasts.
Brent’s second album, Bridge City Jam,
is a rousing successor to his more subdued and folk-flavoured debut. Recording
the project in concert allowed Brent and his band to capture on tape the
ugh energy and professionalism which have quickly come to characterize
their live shows. The material was mastered in Los Angeles and released
in the fall of 1998. |
